Real Time Tracking of Hospital Staff (Nurses, GDA’s & Supporting Staff)

  • Problems:

    • Patient often complains as nurses or other supporting staff does not available in need or in emergency. As a process every IPD patient assigned with dedicated nurse and a supporting staff, it is expected as nurse or supporting should be present in need, but this does not happen in reality.

  • Solutions:

    • We have implemented nurse calling system, where patient just press the help button of smart ID card and call the nurse. Even admin get notification if nurse does not present in patients room or nearby for predefined period of time.

Real Time tracking for reducing waiting for lab testing

  • Problems:

    • A. OPD and IPD patient get mixed over during lab testing; IPD patient gets the priority over OPD patients so OPD patient waiting time increase and they feel annoyed.

  • Solutions:

    • Real time location tracking system helped lab operator to know who all of patients are present in waiting area, for which tests to be performed, the urgency of the tests. He can also think as how can he serve the OPD patient well by adjusting the queue.

    B. Lab assistant don’t have idea as how many patients are waiting for the test in waiting area, what test they come for. Also doing diligence of doctor’s prescription and checks of other documents is time consuming task.

  • Solutions:

    • Our Real time queue management system helped lab operator to understand as how many patients are present in waiting area, he can check the doctor prescription and other documents in advance on single click. If some patients do not available in waiting area he can adjust the queue or inform the admin.

    C. IPD patient should be accompanied by the specific ward boy for getting lab test done. The same ward boy should drop the patient to the IPD room after testing finished.This does not happen in actual working. Often admin don’t aware which ward boy is free and should be assigned to the patient while having lab tests. Once the test gets over, patient observed to be lying down in waiting area as supporting staff does not available.

  • Solutions:

    • Our system helps admin to assign the supporting staffs who are free and near to the location of IPD room or on the floor.System inform admin of the patient is lying at lab test waiting area for beyond certain limit of time, the admin can notify the same supporting staff to perform his duty or he can assign the task to other ward boy who is present to the nearest location.

Asset Tracking

  • Problems:
  • 1.Hospital assets such as medical equipments, beds, wheel chairs etc. are always available in limited numbers.
  • 2. Some percentage of assets does not get available due to maintenance.
  • 3. These assets are used by different departments of hospitals such as cardio, general, emergency, cancer, ortho etc. Due to peer competition these department don’t return the assets to the stores.
  • 4. Many time assets also get used between different branches of hospitals in similar city.Now these assets won’t get available whenever in emergency or new patients get admitted.
  • Solutions:

    • Our real time tracking system helps the admin and asset store manager to find exact location of asset whether in premises or among the locations. This solution enables smooth asset allocation task.

  • 5. Hospitals need to involve some staff during mandatory external audits, finding all the assets in time is used to be tedious task to the hospital staff and time consuming as well.

  • 6. Hospitals regularly avails the leased the assets as regular practice and also in needs. These assets charged as per the usage in terms of time or hours. In the absence of location tracking and actual usage monitoring, conflict emerges between the vendors.

    Mobile App based Way finding:

    • Problems:

      • Patients or their relatives find difficult to search exact location or department of the hospital. Interestingly reception allots dedicated staff just to show the path towards the desired location. Many instances the accompanying staff not get available. If patient does not find the route say towards the respective OPD. In this case doctors need to wait for the patient or need to stay back longer time until patients comes. Currently for avoiding this, dedicated staff gets allotted for helping patient to search the OPD location. But many times the dedicated staff also does not get available.

    • Solutions:

      • We have deployed indoor location maps like we use the Google maps for external navigation. The Patient need to download this app once they done with the basic registration at the reception. And start the hospital navigation.
